Count down to Christmas!
What happened:
We had and awesome fun filled afternoon, jam packed with some great activities that explored the promise that "we are never alone", for at Christmas we see how we have a God who did and does not remain distant but who came into our very lives and sitations. This is why we can look at this almost crazy story of a teenage girl who falls pregant in a miraculous way and gives birth to the Son of God in a dirty stinky stable. The God who did not mind being born in terrible circumstances, is the same God who joyfully comes in to our circumstances to spend time with us and rescues us. Join us as we explore the God who is always near; and how He is always for us, even if it is sometimes difficult to see or understand. Some of the activities were sporty others were be crafty, some were active, others were reflective. Our children enjoyed leading parents from activity to activity! At about 4.30pm we wrapped up our activity time and gathered for our brief celebration time during which the story was shared. We finished the afternoon with a simple meal prepared with love by our Messy Church community catering team.
