The Holy Temple!
The Holy Temple is the theme of our next Messy Church at Immanuel Sunday 24th September 3.30pm - 5.30pm in the Immanuel Auditorium.
A temple is a place where God lives with his people.
Did you know that your body is one of God's temples. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Long ago God told his people to build a temple as a place where he could live with them. And in the very middle of the temple was the place where God was.
Because of sin this was as close as God would come to the people. But then God sent his son Jesus to be our Saviour. Jesus took away our sin and makes us holy. Now God can live in us! We are his temples. God now makes his home with us!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says: Don’t you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you, and you have received the Spirit from God. You do not belong to yourselves.20 Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God.
Here is a children's presentation of that teaches why God asked the people to build a Temple for him. It is from the Book: The Garden, The Curtain and the Cross
