The Garden of life
Messy Church at Immanuel met on Sunday 19th Feb and explored one of the garden stories in the Bible: focusing on God's tree of life which was in the middle of the beautiful garden of Eden. We remembered how our sin keeps us out the garden and away from the tree of life (we made Angel guard/warrior swords out of balloons!). We gave thanks that Jesus died on the cross to take away our sin. Because of Jesus we trust that we will live with God forever and will one day be able to enjoy the fruits from the tree of life with God in heaven!
Revelation 2:7 - 'Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will let that person eat from the tree of life in God’s paradise.’
Revelation 22:2 - '.... each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing 12 crops of fruit. Its fruit was ripe every month. The leaves of the tree bring healing to the nations"
Revelation 22:14: - 'Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will have the right to come to the tree of life. They will be allowed to go through the gates into the city."
Next Messy Church at Immanuel: 9.30-11.30am Sunday 9th April - starting with a Palm Sunday palm branch procession (at 9.30am) from the Immanuel Chapel to the Immanuel Auditorium.

Where are gardens mentioned in the bible?
Here is one of the first:
Genesis 2 says:
8 The Lord God had planted a garden in the east in Eden. He put in the garden the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made every kind of tree grow out of the ground. The trees were pleasing to look at. Their fruit was good to eat. There were two trees in the middle of the garden. One of them had fruit that let people live forever. The other had fruit that let people tell the difference between good and evil. 10 A river watered the garden.... (NIrV)
